Critiquing an explanation.

My reflection:
I had to highlight the different parts of the explanation and then I had to post it to my blog.
I can understand the different parts of a explanation.
I am still learning to identify the features of an explanation.
My next steps are to do my own explanation writing.

Explanation writing examples.

My reflection:
I had to read each example and then I had to write and highlight all the patterns I noticed, The features I found are: The introduction, the conclusion, all the facts, sequential words and 3 red firstlys.I think I did the highlighting bit well because I think I did so efficiently and it was quite well from my perspective. I can now under stand the different parts of a  argument. My next steps are to write my own examples.

Kallum's well balanced argument

My reflection:    
I had to state out the positives and negatives on a table (The grid table.) in my writing book then I had to arrange most of the pros and cons and make a draft of a well balanced argument then I had to make a google doc and write everything from my draft onto this google doc and last but not least I had to publish it to blogger like this! I can efficiently layout my plan of action in my head and have everything sorted. I am still learning the writing frame and practicing the layout. The most helpful thing was having a plan because when I had all the ideas there and then I was all sorted to do the draft so I could do it hard and fast. I am most proud of all the detail because each paragraph is all fat and juicy. (To me.) my next steps are to focus on having a better conclusion and actually summing the argument up.

My reflection.
WALT identify the features of a well balanced argument.
I had to read the argument and highlight the different parts of the story with different colors.
I can now remember the important parts of a argument or a speech.
I think I did well the highlighting bit because I noticed this straight away and I was on task and I knew what to do.  I feel happy about this because it really means allot to me on writing and doing speeches and this kind of stuff.   My next steps are to have a little bit more detail to my comments

Insect mouthparts

My reflection. I had to watch a video of all insect mouth parts and  how to tell them apart then I had to take all the information and put it on here with the screen shots. I think I understood what to do and I felt extra happy about that because usually I do not get these type of things but now I can do it. I want to know more of Insect mouth parts and how they work. My next steps are to go into more advanced ¨information report¨ activities.
